Nonbusiness Energy Credits IRC25C

The 2010 Tax Relief Act extended the credit for one year through 2011. The credit is for individuals who make certain energy-saving improvements to their homes. The credit has been reduced to 10% from 30%; and the dollar limitations on residential energy property expenditures are reduced as follows:

 

$50 for each advanced main air circulating fan;

$150 for each qualified natural gas, propane, or oil furnace or hot water boiler;

$300 for each item of qualified energy efficient property; and

$200 for windows

 

RESIDENTIAL ENERGY EFFICIENT PROPERTY CREDIT

A 30% energy credit is available for the installation of qualified solar-water heating property, qualified solar electric property, geothermal heat pumps, and small wind energy property.
